    Where are the webinars hosted?

    Members and non-members can access the pre-recorded webinar by signing in to their SGNA account and navigating to the eLearning Center (linked here). New webinars will be available in the “Featured Webinars” section.

    Can I earn nursing contact hours for webinars?

    Upon successful completion, all attendees can earn nursing contact hours.

    How can I earn ABCGN Category 1 Contact Hours?

    Clinical webinars that are released and available for viewing in 2024 will follow the process below for earning ABCGN category 1 contact hours. Successful Completion of this accredited continuing education activity is based on:

    1) Being registered for this activity,

    2) Viewing of the entire webinar within 30 days of the release date, and

    3) Completion of the Evaluation. 

    • Participants must register (members) or purchase (non-members) and successfully complete the webinar within 30 days of the release date to earn category 1 Contact Hour.
    • Participants will have the ability to ask questions regarding the webinar by submitting them to info@sgna.org and referencing the title of the webinar. The questions will be forwarded to the presenter. At the end of the 30 days, the submitted questions and the answers will be sent to anyone who has completed the webinar.
    • Participants successfully completing the webinar within the 30 days will earn a Category 1 Contact Hour.  Successful Completion of this accredited continuing education activity is based on:

    1) Being registered for this activity,

    2) Viewing of the entire webinar within 30 days of the release date, and

    3) Completion of the Evaluation. 

    What if I am unable to complete the webinar within 30 days of its release?

    If you are unable to successfully complete the webinar within the 30 days, you can still earn nursing contact hours. However, the contact hours will be ABCGN Category 5.

    Gastric intestinal metaplasia is an intermediate pre-cancerous lesion of the stomach with a potential link to dysplasia and adenocarcinoma. We will discuss the terminology, classification, and risk factors for gastric metaplasia. We will further review endoscopic evaluation, mapping, and management of this condition.

    • Understand the dynamics of a GI/Endoscopy unit or facility.

    This program consists of eight online education modules covering the following topics:

    Module 1: Anatomy & Physiology 
    Module 2: Endoscopic Equipment
    Module 3: Infection Prevention
    Module 4: Patient Care
    Module 5: Risk Management
    Module 6: Roles & Responsibilities
    Module 7: Safety
    Module 8: Emergency Preparedness

    The participants of this online program, consisting of eight modules, carefully study the program material and then take module post-tests. Upon successful completion of the eight post-tests and evaluations, the participant is awarded a Certificate of Completion and a pin. The successful participant is also awarded the privilege of being recognized as a GI Technical Specialist (GTS).

     Please allow 4-6 weeks from date of completion to receive the lapel pin.

    CBSPD: This online educational program offers the chance to earn 7.00 contact hours from The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) eligible from September 2023 - September 2028.

    Expiration: As of September 2023, SGNA will be implementing an expiration date for learners completing the Associates Program. The expiration date will be five years from the date completed. For example, if a learner completed the program on August 17, 2023, then the learner will need to retake the program before or on August 17, 2028.

    If you took the program in or prior to 2018, you would need to re-enroll in the Associates Program to hold a current certificate of completion.

    NOTE: Registration for this product expires after 180 days.

    Google Chrome: For the Associates Program to work effectively and track your progress, please make sure you keep both the tab with the title '[CLONE] Associates Program...' open with the module you are completing. If you exit out of the '[CLONE] Associates Program...' tab your progress will not save and you will not be directed back to the eLearning Center once you've completed your module.

    The purpose of the Advanced Associates Program is to provide you with the opportunity to further your knowledge base in the field of GI/endoscopy. The program is presented in a manner that will challenge your critical thinking skills by applying the learned concepts from modules to case studies. The case studies offer an opportunity to interact with your healthcare team and discuss actions you would take in similar situations.

    This program consists of three online education modules covering the following topics:

    Module 1: Communication  Module 2: Equipment Module 3: Emergency Preparedness

    Modules contain slides, diagrams, supporting documents including case studies to address the critical thinking component and a self-study component with skills validation as well as a post-test that will need to be completed in order for the participant to receive their certificate of completion. Upon completing the post-tests of all three modules, an Official Recognition of Completion certificate will be available for download and an AGTS lapel pin will be awarded to the associate through SGNA. Please allow 4-6 weeks from date of completion to receive the lapel pin.

    CBSPD: This online educational program offers the chance to earn 4.50 contact hours from The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) eligible from September 2023 - September 2028
