Course Description and Outcomes
In order to achieve health equity and reduce disparities in health outcomes, healthcare professionals need to be able to identify the pervasiveness and implications of implicit bias and how bias affects patients and their interactions within the healthcare system. This course will address how implicit bias negatively impacts health outcomes and identify actionable steps that healthcare providers can take to mitigate and counter bias both personally and professionally.
Upon Completion of this course, you will be able to:

CO2: Recognize characteristics of bias
CO3: Identify how implicit bias is manifested in conversation
CO4: Analyze how actions are influenced by implicit bias
CO5: Identify how implicit bias negatively impacts health outcomes
