This lecture will discuss bacteria and therapeutic approaches to cholangitis. It will also describe the problem of potential transmission of bacteria due to inadequate ERCP duodenoscope reprocessing.  Finally, it will describe new technology to address the issue of inadequate duodenoscope reprocessing.
