- Define Aging
- Discuss the needs of aging population in the US
- Identify physiological changes within the digestive system in older adults.
- Describe symptoms of common GI problems (Constipation, Diarrhea, abdominal pain) in older adults.
- Explain common causes and risk factors for the GI complaints
- Review diagnostic test and procedures
- Discuss treatment and management of common GI complaints
- Identify how nurses can apply patient centered approach
