  • Discuss the needs of aging population in the US
  • Identify physiological changes within the digestive system in older adults.
  • Describe symptoms of common GI problems (Constipation, Diarrhea, abdominal pain) in older adults.
  • Explain common causes and risk factors for the GI complaints
  • Review diagnostic test and procedures
  • Discuss treatment and management of common GI complaints
  • Identify how nurses can apply patient centered approach
